WELCOME!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!!THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL FIND THE  RULES of Got Good Bones® or we like to call them GUIDELINES!!!  (Please see Terms of Service also) 

Hi and Welcome to Got Good Bones®, an online community. First and foremost:  Please buy and sell at your own risk. We are all here as we love to fix up furniture..giving it a new life and a new home...whether it be in our own or our neighbors. We probably are all decorators in one way or another. I will be honest- I am a big time picker...that is MY thrill!! But decorating is a close second...

I started this Community, AKA as a GROUP, as a way that we could buy\sell furniture and not have to sift through hundreds of posts of shoes and clothing. Do not get me wrong- I love the other sights and use them way too much! :) But it is nice to have a specific group to be able to ask questions about paint, repairing a leg or how to's on mixing colors, etc.....Please use this site!! You can buy and sell furniture on here that has "good bones"....while everyone has a different perception of what may have good bones or not-I will not delete posts of furniture...You can sell painting supplies, books on DIY whatever you would like. We have also had some overwhelming responses on selling items to help fix the furniture up too....like paint, paint brushes,  and such. 

Since you cannot forget about all the great things that can go with furniture- we also encourage you to sell your antiques, vintage and home decor items on here.  

Also post your finished items- brag all you want...and also post deals that you found...everyone loves a great deal!  You will enjoy this NICHE Community!! And as for your significant other...well maybe they will not be as excited- as the great items you find on here will fill up your home quickly and also fill your calendar while you fix them up!! :)

As with all selling sites- buy and sell at your own risk. Keep personal information a bit more private and share through private messages. Meet in public places and bring others with you.  Please see our detailed information below about safety in any online community.  

Lets all be cognizant of others- it you want something- please follow though. I know how life is- and I understand that things come up...If you are unable to get it- that is fine- just let the person know!! Send them a message!! Keep the lines of communication OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please make sure that you are aware of the cross streets for pick up. If it’s too far and you cannot make it out there- then chances are the items really is not meant to be yours so let the next person have at it! If you really want it- you will be willing to travel to get it!

Any business\entity\individual who is involved in sponsoring\ promoting any flea market\public or private sale\antique show\multiple vendor related business\ will need to contact me first for approval to list an event\business link on any Got Good Bones™  Online Community related sites. There is a small fee for any events that are associated with a calendar date. If you share a photo on the GGB group- whether its for sale, trade, or brag...please note- It may be selected for the GROUP cover photo or it may be featured in the GGB Community or on 

 If you want to protect your photo- you may wish to watermark your image.... I feature these items and it sometimes gives a boost in the interest on that item. I do not save these photos, I do not take ownership of them, nor do I claim that they are mine. Lots of times when this happens- the seller will get many more interested parties in their items....Thank you!! 

Thank you for reading the GGB Guidelines\Rules\Terms of Services Sections. If we all follow them and be fair- we will not have any issues. There are many reasons to use the site. The first goal on this group is to be first in line for something that you have seen on here. It’s as plain and simple as that. The second goal of this group is to sell your item (s). I do hope you all will take a few minutes to read these rules.   

NEW RULE: if you have an issue on the site- please vent to the admin. ONLY. I will create a post to send to everyone. Do not create a post to vent your issues. These seem to cause discord in the site. I know that there are some groups that approve ALL posts before they are posted- I do not have time to do that nor do I want to. We are all adults. Please let me know when you have an issue. When someone is a repeat offender- they will be booted...Simple as that.

BUYING RULES:

1. When showing interest in an item, please be cognizant of the major cross streets, zip code and check out the internet for a map and see how far the item is from you. Ask as many question about the item to help determine if you are interested.

2. Allow the seller to make arrangements with you. Be proactive. You also can contact the seller- and share details. For example : Hi @sellers name.. I am so excited to get this item. I am available on these dates and times...You can text me if you would like.... Give the seller time to respond... I am going to say 6 hours. If someone listed the item in the a.m., In this day and age- most people check their phones and pages many times a day.... You never know who will turn out to be your favorite seller\buyer. Imagine this scenario. You love to collect typewriters. You meet someone and you have just bought a wonderful piece of furniture...You strike up a conversation and you tell them that you love to collect old typewriters. Imagine- in a couple of months time- they come across one. Who do they call? YOU! Common Courtesy goes a long way. You can always report any inappropriate transactions to the admin. Build relationships, be courteous, its a small world.

3. If you would like to purchase something- SPEAK UP and post it in the comment!!! PM's do not count. YOU MUST PUT THE WORD INTERESTED if you are interested in the item. If you see that someone else has already expressed interest, you may use the word NEXT. If you are interested here are some examples of how you can express interest.

a. Interested. 

b. Interested, but I would like to know some additional information.

The computer does an amazing job of time stamping all of our comments.... so there will never be an issue on the order in which a comment has been posted.

Keep it short and simple.

If you think a friend of yours is interested in the item. You are welcome to tag them so that they can see the item and add their name if they choose. That is nice to do for our friends. Its great that we look out for each other. @my friends name...hey look at this.... THIS IS NOT A "PLACEHOLDER" for the spot in the line.

Due to all the issues we are having- if you write the word INTERESTED...that means you are interested in the item. PERIOD. If you wish to assist a friend in the purchase of the said item, that is fine. You will be responsible for assisting your friend to secure the item through the buyer. WoW! I know! Alot of work huh....but not really.

Someone mentioned that she likes to get items for her sister, who does not frequent Fb very much. She will secure the item with the word Interested. She will tag her sister INTERESTED. @ friends name. ( notice- I made sure there was a space and a period in between the words- please make sure that your communication is correct.) She calls or PM's or texts her sister- then goes and picks it up for her. I am not saying by any means that you have to pick items for your friend- but you can assist in telling the seller what your intentions are and that you will actively contact that person and get an answer. For example. Interested. @ My Friends name...Oh wow...My friend loves these Betty Boop Curtains! Let me text her right now and show her the picture. On the back end....I contacted my friend- she really wants these curtains... We can pick up on Sat. or.... My friend really loves the Curtains- can she call (text), FB you? 

You will need to make sure that the seller gets all the information that is necessary for the transaction to be completed. You cannot leave the seller hanging. ( and you cannot leave the other potential buyers hanging either). Treat the transaction as if you are the interested party. You will contact the other party in whatever way you see fit- and if they are not interested you can go back to the post and say PASS. This should be a smooth transaction. You (in essence) are acting as a broker for the person whom you have tagged. Whether it be for you or your friend- if you have typed INTERESTED then YOU are the one showing the interest and your have become the point person showing the interest for the person you have tagged. This should not be any extra work for the seller- they may have to check their "other" folder for the information on the person who is interested. Please follow through.

4. Do not tag someone that is not in the site. This is a CLOSED site- so they will be unable to see it anyway.

5. If you are in this group- and you decide you want something- you must pick up or meet at a location that is acceptable to the seller....do not expect delivery-unless you make arrangements with the seller.

6. Buyers may wish to keep a list of the items that they were interested in. and include of the persons name and the item and the price that it was offered at. This makes it easier. Also if you purchase from other sites- it can get a bit overwhelming to keep track of everything.

7. Do not offer earlier pick up, more money or try to get someone to go out of order. Lets all respect each other....There is plenty of items for everyone!!! If you get to see the item and its not as described- you do not have to purchase! NO FCFS (First come first serve) is allowed on this site. It causes way to many problems!!!! Do not contact a member that is selling something via PM and offer more money! THIS IS BAD KARMA!!!! Do not contact sellers and request that they only sell to you and no one else! I have been pretty passive when it comes to the everyday dealings of this group. But I am going to start be much more strict and will delete. I cannot keep dealing with all the drama. This site is to be fun- and I want it to stay that way!!

8. These terms are used on the other groups- and it would be easy to just keep them uniform if possible....

BUMP= puts your post at the top 

EUC= excellent brand new-used condition

ISO= in search of an item

PM= Private message - send someone a message- but sometimes they go to your other folder- so please check. 

PPU= Pending Pick Up... 

Cross Posted= Item may be listed on another FB group or craigslist. 

INTERESTED = You would like the item....If someone already is ahead of you- you are next in line...

9. If you have expressed an interest and the the buyer has tried to contact you- and you have not responded within 6 hours. You will loose your place in line. Do not leave people hanging in the dark.

10. Atmosphere: I strive to keep this group a place where we all can buy, sell and trade, share ideas, ask for help on refurbishing or any other question you may have, brag about pieces we find on the street, get for 5 bucks or that were found in an awesome dumpster dive!!! We are all here for the same reasons and I WANT and DEMAND that all of us treat each other with respect. If something is NOT going good on a post- please refrain from continuing to post on it and contact me via PM. I am the only admin on this page. I will not tolerate ANY undesirable actions\words\comments etc...... I cannot monitor the page 24 hours a day- I should not have too as we are all adults. I am a fair person, I believe in second chances and will listen and try to make changes to prevent something from happening in the future...I will not hesitate to delete and ban anyone from the group who continually cause issues. Because this is a tight nit community- I have met alot of you personally and I do not want to take sides....<3 If you block the admin on the site- you will be deleted.

I offer free giveaways and try very hard to make this a fun and different page that we all will enjoy coming to and using. I CARE about EVERYONE on here and want all of us to enjoy our experiences on here. I want so much for this page to remain one that people are enjoying and talking about for all the RIGHT reasons !! I cannot make everyone 100% happy 100% of the time.

SELLING RULES:

1. When listing an item, please make sure that you post in the group that you are offering the item for- and please post your major cross streets, your side of town and a zip code and include the price, the dimensions and any other pertinent information- so that the interested person can make a decision if they would like the item or not.  Please describe the item in full. The buyer may drive all the way across town and if the item is not what as described- it is a waste of time, a disappointment, and a bad taste in their mouth.... lets avoid this!

2. Allow the buyer to make arrangements with you. Take the initiative too and send them an email. Hi I see you want the Betty Boop Curtains. When is good for you? I am in the SW near the M casino.... Give the potential buyer time to respond... You can use your judgement on this. But I am going to say 6 hours. If someone commits in the a.m., I Give them until after lunch. 

But on the flip side- in this day and age- most people check their phones and pages many times a day...You can kinda tell if someone is really committed to an item. You can also tell who is flaky. You never know who will turn out to be your best customer. I give them the benefit of the doubt....but there comes a time in every transaction to move on. If someone has received your Follow Up messages, and have not responded, ...chances are they are not interested- and you need to move on. Common Courtesy goes a long way. You can always report these transactions to the admin.

3. Sellers may wish to keep a list of the persons name and the item and the price that it was offered at. This makes it easier. Due to issues on the site- only three items per post. More than that seems to cause issues and mass confusion....

4. Please feel free to bump your post-just do not do it too much!! This is a small group... BUMP ONCE EVERY 24 hours. If you have bumped your item several times- and it has not sold....you may wish to LOWER your price, take a better picture and maybe stage your item a bit better...

5. The seller must pick up the item at your location (whether it be at you home or a mutually agree on place).

8. Cross posting is ok...just state it in your post. I do like this site as we are all on here because we have a common interest. I hate sifting through hundreds of clothing items and tools and things I do not want to see all the time....

However-if you are cross posting- please make sure that the potential buyers are made aware if someone else from another site is next.... Thank you XXXX for your interest. These were cross posted- and I have 2 other people ahead of you. I will let you know the outcome.

10. Reposting. If you buy something on the site and you wish to resell it here on the same site, you need to keep a few things in mind. Everyone on here has probably seen what you paid for it originally. They will not forget either- especially if it was a very popular item. I am not going to make a rule that you cannot resell.. sell at your own discretion...I want everyone to use this group as I do, to list items they wish to buy, sale or trade. But do keep in mind that the people in this group (who are in essence YOUR customers- as all of us are customers on here) have their own ideas about what is kosher or cool and what is not. I am not going to tell anyone how to price their items- price as you please... all that I can ask is that each seller is cognizant of this rule #11 and price accordingly.

If you buy something on the site and refurbish it, again you may ask whatever price you feel is appropriate.

No personal fundraising on the site. If I let one person- I have to let everyone. Thank you for understanding.

-No new appliances, No mattresses, period. You can sell antiques ovens, stoves, etc....but they must be older than me... ( and I am old) Vintage irons are good- new appliances, I am going to say no. No treadmills either. There are plenty of other sites you can use for these  items.

-If you have friends that want to join-please add them. It makes my life a bit easier. If someone has a profile that is less than a month old, no friends, and no pictures.... but belongs to 100 selling groups- I will not add them. I want real people on here. I had one today who had friends that all lived in Nigeria...no photos, and all their friends had no friends. These people are creating fake profiles and are creating lots of them and then interlinking them...to make them even look like they are a real person. When I get 60 requests a day- I spend alot of time going though these and if you add your friends- at least it gives me one more layer that I can consider. These people are getting very savvy in trying to get on these sites to garner personal info...I have talked with other admins- and we all really try very hard to weed them out. If your FRIENDS profile looks suspicious- I will send them an email....any way that you can help out when it comes to adding those you know is greatly appreciated!! 

 If you take custom orders through your own business, it may be in your best interest to have a contract. This will protect you and it will also protect the buyer. Buyers- you should want this also. Please communicate and put down in writing- about what will be done, when it will be done by, deposits, any specifics (does it include installation, custom paint job, initials, etc..) What is the specifics on returns? Etc...I do not do custom work- but those of you who do know what areas should be addressed in writing. There is lots of info on how to create a contract or you may wish to consult an attorney. By no means is Got Good Bones, Got Good Bones Too (Facebook Groups) or gotgoodbones.com, or Johannah Bruns Back responsible for any transactions that occur due to people connecting on this page. It may be in your best interest to check references on contractors, business license status, and always due your research before you hire anyone. Please see information in the Terms of Service Below. 

- Please handle any grievances through private messages. This will prevent negativity from being on the site.

-In regards to custom orders that are taken through your personal business, you are more than welcome to let me know what is going on. I am a neutral party....I have no say in any outcome when it comes to these issues... If issues continually arise- I will delete people. You are all growing your businesses on my site- and I do not charge you for it. I want small businesses to succeed and love that you are all getting business here and want everyone to be happy.

-Auctions. Auctions function on this site as any post for an item for sale. The seller shall be responsible for determining the specifics. Must have a start and end time. The close of the auction is determined by the time stamp of the last bid recorded before the next minute elapses. This means that bids can be placed up to and including the minute of the end of the auction, Example: If your auction ends at 8:00 p.m., the last winning bidder is the winner of the auction. In other words, the last valid bid can be received up until 8:00 and 59 seconds. The seller and the interested parties can retrieve this information on the time stamp- if you hover your mouse over the time it will give more details. This option is not on phones however...

- Please let me know if you have any concerns over what is transpiring on the site. If you have issues with a pick up- no shows, etc....please let me know. I cannot get rid of someone just because you have had an issue with them. I try to be fair. If I see trends- I will take steps. let me know...communication.... its a good thing!

-ISO You may post an ISO (In Search of) on this site. Here is an example. I want a chair. Ten people post a chair. The person doing the ISO should get the first pick of the items.... I cannot have a free for all of people who want to buy chairs on the ISO. I am not sure how to address this to be fair. My husband and I have discussed. I will be updating this.....stay tuned...

-Piggybacking: No Piggybacking allowed on the site. Example. Jane is selling a chair. She has it for sale for 10.00 Someone else is selling a chair for 5.00. They go onto Jane's post and put a picture of their item that is for sale. This is not nice.... do not do it.

-Paint posts....We have had alot if issues with paint on here. I do not want to deal with this again. If someone asks for info on Paint A then only comments talking about Paint A should be posted. No one that uses Paint C should go on the post and try to sell their paint, or say comments about Paint C. If someone goes on the site and asks what paints that you use- every paint post can be included....just keep it nice. We have had issues with this in the past. This is why I created files in the group about different paint brands. You all are welcome to go to the files section and see this information. Please feel free to leave a review under the paint of your choice....

-Blocking. You can block others....that is your choice. But remember- you will not see their movement on the site. We had an issue this past month 

Person A blocked Person B. Persons A and B were both wanting the same piece of furniture...so of course- the order of who was truly first was not available to the blocker....This is one of the disadvantages....Also if you block me you are automatically deleted...I check.

- Please respect me and everyone on the site. If you do not like what someone else is posting....do not comment- just block them- so that you do not have to see it anymore. Everyone has the right to post on here....if you do not like it- don't complain..don't call names...just block. If you have a problem with me, please contact me on PM. If you block me though- I can tell and you will be deleted.... :) LOL

What is not allowed on Got Good Bones- An Online Community

No Guns, weapons, drugs or illegal items.  No live pets. 

No exercise equipment (Unless its 50 years or older). 

No Computers or electronics…. But exceptions are made for VINTAGE electronic items… 

No small appliances or large ones for that matter. Again- if you have a vintage appliances- that is acceptable! 

Fish tanks- I really do not think these should be on here. There are plenty of other sites out there where an item such as this can be sold.  

No mattresses!!

No items that are so destroyed that no matter how much talent is on the site it would still be put out in the garbage.  We like victorian couches that need upholstery with the springs exposed. We do not like your leather couch that has been torn up by your pup.  Items like this just need to go to the dump! 

Its got to have “good bones”.... It must be vintage, antiques, home decor and furniture...as well as the fun things people to use to work with those items. 

SAFETY and SECURITY and How to be a Good GGBer! 

Got Good Bones recommends that everyone on the site pay close attention during the securing of any items that are listed for sale or trade in our online community. It is Always best to meet in a public place- during daylight hours- with lots of people around. Always be cognizant before during and after the transaction.  Bring someone with you also!! Do not accept online payments, large denomination bills or checks. 

If you ever feel threatened- please contact your local authorities.  Always put safety first! 

When you use the site- make sure that you post all the necessary information, be truthful and honest about what you are selling.  Make sure to include item, item description, item photo, dimensions, color, smell….etc.  Sometimes when you are selling something that is unfamiliar -its best to take LOTS of pictures…. If a metal weld is busted or a drawer pull is missing- you can photograph those to show the potential buyers what is going on with the item. 

If you are getting custom work done- it’s in your best interest to get a contract for all parties protection. Licensed contractors are also recommended. GGB has no way of knowing who is licensed- so please do your due diligence and check references and state agencies. If you receive custom services on the site- please note that GGB does not screen or endorse anyone. If you have work done- and have a problem, you are welcome to let me know...but the first thing I will be ask you is if  possess a contract- and that document will be best to determine your course of action.  

Be a GotGoodBoner! Follow up, communicate and show up! Everyone’s time is valuable! Treat others how you wish to be treated- and respect each other. 

We do not tolerate any mean,foul, rude or threatening language. Violators of this rule will be removed the the group.

Bullying, Arguing, Threats or Rude behavior will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the community. Please report these instances to your network host. 

If you do not show for a scheduled pickup time- you will be warned- and after three times- you will be asked to leave the group.  No one wants to waste time. 

Fake profiles are not allowed on the site and will be removed when the host is alerted. Do not misrepresent yourself, pretend to be someone else or release personal information or complain publicly about another person. Violations of this rule will result in the member being removed from the group.

Spam is not allowed on the group. Selling services that are not part of our Niche will bot be tolerated and the posts will be removed. Profiles that are spamming will be removed. Do not impersonate, send malicious, threatening or rude messages. Members are encouraged to report these instances to the host.
